ATE encourages the Maryland Public Service Commission to approve BGE’s revised DRIVE Act Pilot Proposal. BGE’s revised Virtual Power Plant pilot and time-of-use enhancements reflect stakeholder input and advance the objectives of the DRIVE Act. We believe the program will expand participation opportunities while reducing peak demand, lowering system costs and strengthening grid reliability and resilience. By enabling flexible customer participation and integrating distributed energy resources such as EVs and battery storage within a robust benefit-cost framework, the proposal establishes a scalable model for managing growing electrification while delivering affordability and system benefits to all ratepayers.
